Fully Automatic Hardness Tester. Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers and Shore A-D (ISO 2039). Test’s temperature measurement. Load cell with Closed Loop system (Pat. AFFRI).
The measuring head is fully motorized with a vertical sliding stroke of 50 mm / 2” (Total vertical capacity 215mm / 8.5”). The clamping system moves with the head for the whole vertical stroke generating a constant pressure of 50 kgf when the specimen is clamped (additional clamping force adjustable till 400 kgf). The indenter is protected and retracted, it moves down just after the specimen is fully clamped and stable, minimizing the risk of accidental damages.
The activation of the test cycle is automatic, it starts when the head makes contact with the specimen which is automatically recognized at any position within the 50 mm / 2” of vertical stroke.

The entire test cycle is complete and the result appears on a large display. Fully motorized and automatic, the test is not affected by operator influences and can easily be used by operators of every level.
Extremely accurate hardness testers. Load forces are applied directly on the measuring axis through load cells and are electronically controlled in "Closed Loop" (Pat. AFFRI) with a frequency of 1 kHz (1000 input per second). When testing unstable samples or deflective parts, the measuring head will follow the sample without losing contact with its 50 mm / 2” stroke. Results are not affected by any structural deflection, misalignment or vibration. Accurate measurements, even on the first test, eliminates the need for repeated tests. The R&R data is at the top of its class.
Rotating optical arm with self-alignment of the optic with the indentation axis. Automatic centering of the indentation with no need to move the specimen. Reading of Brinell and Vickers indentations in compliance with ISO 6506 6507 and ASTM E384 standards. Interchangeable objectives magnification: 1x 2x 3x 4x for 5x 10x 15x 20x and 15x eyepiece for manual measure. (Total magnification: 75x 150x 225x 300x). Camera USB 2.0 - 1280X1024 pixels.
Software for Vickers, Knoop and Brinell indentation reading: Automatic and manual measure, image zoom, focus signal, trace CHD case depth diagram, statistic, create test report, memory of image. Metallurgical analysis: Automatic spheroidal nodule analysis (ISO 945); Automatic phase percentage analysis; Manual grain particle size measure; Polygon perimeter and area measure; Line to line angle; Circle diameter; Line to point; Point to point; Polygon insertion. Separate desk-top PC for software operation and indentation auto-evaluation.
Vertically sliding work table with a vertical stroke of 215 mm / 8.5” capable of bearing masses up to 1000 kg which allows for steady hardness measurements on bulky or irregular pieces.
Main control LCD panel in front of the measuring head for setup of test parameters:
Selection of hardness scales, dwell time, conversion data, return stroke, memory and storage of results, statistics, test temperature measure, calibration, system checkup, tolerance range, in-time results average, correction of round surface and automatic evaluation.
Universal testing solutions splitting into three versions:
VRSA - Semi-automatic reading with drum scale and digital measure. No need to use tables.
VRSD - Semi-automatic reading with encoder and direct digital readout.
VRSTV - Automatic and semi-automatic reading through CCD camera and combined software for indentation evaluation and measurement.
